Part of Supersonic Festival, All Ears is a free exhibition exploring innovations in early music technology. Curated by Digbeth-based Capsule, it will include a new commission by artist collective Owl Project, who work with wood and electronics to fuse sculpture and sound to create music through machines, interfaces and objects.
New works, including a reconditioned five-octave pipe organ and an Oak Apple Orchestra, will be exhibited alongside Victorian music boxes and table top organs from Birmingham Museum Trust’s rarely-seen collection.
Part of All Ears, Bees in a Tin (taking place on Friday 12th June) is a day dedicated to presentations and demonstrations by artists whose work crosses between the arts, science, technology and gaming. Featuring performances and workshops on a variety of topics from microbiology to research through design. For more information and tickets click here.
