Another Moat Lane Tragedy

After two people unfortunately took their lives by jumping from the top of Moat Lane car park in 2012, DRA was concerned that this may be the beginning of an awful trend. (See Moat Lane Tragedy and Tragedy in Digbeth for previous stories.)

With reports of a third person using the multi-storey car park for the exact same purpose yesterday (see the story at the Birmingham Mail website), our deepest condolences go to their loved ones.

However, this means that our fears of the building becoming a ‘destination’ may have been realised. As such, Digbeth Residents Association will be formally writing to Birmingham City Council to ask for measures to be put in place to try to prevent such sad occurrences taking place.

Anyone in need of emotional support can call the Samaritans at any time of the day or night on 08457 909 090.
