Bee Friendly at the Digbeth Community Garden

When: Saturday 27th September, 12:00 onwards
Where: Digbeth Community Garden, Shaw’s Passage, Digbeth, B5 5TH

Birmingham Friends of the Earth will be holding a bee-friendly seed planting event at the Digbeth Community Garden next week. The garden was opened by Nechells Councillor Yvonne Mosquito and Chair of Digbeth Residents Association John Gordon in July, and is open to all as a green oasis in Digbeth.

By planting bee-friendly wildflower seeds in the wild area of the garden, it is hoped that more bees will be attracted to the heart of our city to help halt their decline. You can read more about the issues affecting bees on the FOE Bee Cause campaign website.

As well as planting seeds, the Community Garden volunteers would love your help with pond-digging and general garden maintenance in return for good food, good company, and possibly some dressing up in bee costumes!
