Birmingham Budget Consultation 2017

When: until 18 January 2017

Birmingham City Council need to make big savings due to financial challenges. A public consultation regarding the proposed budget has been opened to learn if they’re making the right choices.

The budget consultation paper (1.3 MB PDF download) sets out the proposals in further detail.

It’s important to note that proposals include cuts to homeless support agencies, such as Digbeth’s SIFA Fireside and St Basil’s. I personally fear that reducing financial support to these charities will compound our city’s problems with homelessness further, so will be ensuring to make my views clear in the consultation.

We would encourage you to complete the online survey available here to share your views on which services are important to you. You can choose whether to comment on all questions, or just those you select.

By participating in the budget consultation, you can shape how Birmingham City Council will use your council tax in this coming year and future, so get involved!
