Further to our last update in March, there have been positive changes to the Partnerships Unit, outlined by Sergeant Swallow below:

You are no doubt aware that we recently lost Vicki Smith our Partnerships Officer. Vicki’s role will be maintained, but we will have to struggle through until the replacement arrives. We expect to have someone in post at the start of June.

In the interim, I will begin e-mailing you with burglary and vehicle crime on a weekly basis showing the previous week’s crime.

Please find below the first crime figures for your area and many thanks for your patience.

National Stalking Awareness Day

National Stalking Awareness Day exists to raise awareness about the crime of stalking, and will take place on 18th April 2013. Each year there is a different ‘theme’ and because of the recent stalking law changes, this year’s focus is ‘Know the Law, Use the Law’. Currently the law is slightly different in England and Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland but importantly stalking behaviour is against the law across the UK.

More information about National Stalking Awareness Day 2013 can be found here.

Police and Crime Commissioners Survey

From the Neighbourhood Watch Network:

Dear Neighbourhood Watch members,

In November 2012, Police and Crime Commissioners (PCCs) were elected by the public to help cut crime and deliver an effective and efficient police service across force areas in England and Wales.

As part of their roles, PCCs are expected to engage with the public and ensure that community needs are met as effectively as possible, improve local relationships and increase police accountability.

In order to gather the initial views, opinions and experiences across the Neighbourhood and Home Watch movement, you are invited to participate in our PCC survey. The survey shouldn’t take more than five minutes to complete, and you won’t need any specialist information or knowledge.

Please note that the closing date for this survey is Tuesday 30th April 2013.

To take part in the survey, please click here.
