Internationally-acclaimed artist Malgorzata Dawidek is based in London, but has recently completed a six-week residency at Centrala in Digbeth.

The result of her time in Birmingham is Conversio – a multi-element textual and visual narration based on the stories of migrant women. During her residency, Dawidek has worked with migrant women of different ages, ethnic backgrounds and languages, who for economic, health, family or other reasons, have left their home countries.

The aim of Conversio is to discuss femininity as a representation of culture; explore the project at the Centrala Gallery this evening from 18:00 during a special launch party, or visit during normal opening hours until Friday 16th October.
