Digbeth O’Lympics

UPDATE FROM JOHN TIGHE ON 13 SEPTEMBER 2013

“Unfortunately we have had to postpone this year’s Digbeth O’Lympics. Lack of volunteers; pressure of other commitments; lack of availability of Custard Factory pool; seriously inclement weather forecast all combine to make it impossible to proceed for this year.

So sorry to those of you who were looking forward to the event; those of you who have specially bred children for the custard-filled wellie race; those of you who were contemplating ending it all in the downhill road race and those of you who had worked out why your coracle sank so quickly last year and were about to remedy it.

We will think of some alternative means of running the event later in the year.”

When: Sunday 15th September, 12:00 onwards
Where: The Spotted Dog, Warwick Street, Digbeth

The top-secret Digbeth O’Lympics returns to our fair city this weekend, with the usual fun for all the family (read: carnage and mayhem) you’d expect.

All elite athletes are invited to The Spotted Dog from noon on Saturday to partake in world-class and higly-skilled events directly after, of course, the John Tighe produced Opening Ceremony.

O’Lympic events include the traditional (custard-filled welly racing; snail racing; downhill office chair race; wheelchair slalom; coracle racing) along with many more to test the most stout of constitutions.

All proceeds will be donated to Acorns Children’s Hospice; further details below:
