Join Impact Hub Birmingham and Flatpack Film Festival for a screening of Spike Lee’s Do The Right Thing (trailer below) as their final Yellow Wednesday before the new year, accompanied by pizza and discussion around the issues raised:

“Salvatore ‘Sal’ Fragione (Danny Aiello) is the Italian owner of a pizzeria in Brooklyn. A neighbourhood local, Buggin’ Out (Giancarlo Esposito), becomes upset when he sees that the pizzeria’s Wall of Fame exhibits only Italian actors. Buggin’ Out believes a pizzeria in a black neighbourhood should showcase black actors, but Sal disagrees. The wall becomes a symbol of racism and hate, seeing tensions rise.”

Yellow Wednesday is a monthly film night showing work by local filmmakers and more; for more information or to get involved, please contact info@paulstringerartist.co.uk.
