Friends of Warwick Bar

The Friends of Warwick Bar are a small group of residents who have adopted an historic stretch of canal running through Digbeth, to keep this jewel in Birmingham’s crown sparkling. The group’s aim is to make the canalside a more pleasant and safe place to walk, cycle and relax, by clearing litter, painting, gardening, and bringing the area’s creative projects right onto the waterside.

One of these creative initiatives is offering a home (and walls) for Digbeth’s world-class street artists to call their own. There are metres of unloved walls, which have been prepared in brick red masonry paint, crying out for pieces of art.

Artists are asked to bring ideas and paint (after collecting a permission card from Graffitiartist.com), and make their mark on Digbeth! The Friends can help with providing paint – just email friendsofwarwickbar@gmail.com for further information about all aspects of the initiative.

If you would like to lend a helping hand but are not artistic, volunteer clear-up days are held on most Sundays from 10:00 – see further information on the group’s calendar.

Learn more about the group, and keep abreast of events and activities, by visiting their website or Facebook page.
