Funding Success for Eastside City Park

Eastside City Park is Birmingham’s newest public open space and is heavily used by a wide range of people including students, families visiting ThinkTank and the Science Garden, and patrons of The Woodman pub, amongst others.

Following a summer of activity as part of Birmingham City Council’s Active Parks programme, including weekly rounders and tai chi, the Friends of Eastside City Park are planning a calendar of events for 2015.

The group has been successful in gaining a grant of £9,000 from the Heritage Lottery Fund which will be spent on new signage, a website, self-guided walking tours, games equipment (including a large chess set), and a series of consultation events to obtain feedback from park users.

This is fantastic news and we would like to congratulate the Friends of Eastside City Park in their grant success! As part of our neighbourhood, we will of course continue to offer our support to the park and events taking place there in 2015 and beyond.
