Out Of The Woodwork

Where: 148 Adderley Street, Digbeth, B9 4ED

Out of the Woodwork takes the overlooked and neglected and ‘nurtures, revives and inspires’ them back to life – and it’s a philosophy that underpins everything they do.

Their workforce comprises long-term unemployed people and vulnerable adults facing issues including homelessness, alcoholism, mental and physical health problems and social exclusion. Through their intensive programme, Out of the Woodwork helps them find direction, create self-discipline, learn a trade, build self-esteem and restore a sense of balance in their lives.

Connected to Digbeth charity SIFA Fireside, and operating as a social enterprise, every contribution made by supporters counts to keeping Out of the Woodwork going. They are always on the lookout for unloved pieces of wooden furniture to bring back to life, so if you have something you’d like to donate, contact the team who will be more than happy to arrange collection.

If you don’t have furniture to donate, funds are always welcome. Your donation could buy a bus ticket for a client, £10 buys a tin of wood stain, or if you’re feeling very generous, £270 would cover the cost of their electricity bill for a whole month!
