Over and Over Pure Form is a solo exhibition of work by London-based artist Fay Nicolson. At Grand Union she presents a body of interconnected works exploring learning and the distance between experience and images.
The exhibition will consist of a series of large, rhythmic screen-prints on to un-stretched canvas and silks, much like large textiles or abstract paintings. Fay uses these prints as visual backdrop for photographic works, in which she will perform a series of playful postures and repeated gestures. Towards the end of the exhibition, Fay will give a performative reading as part of August’s Digbeth First Friday on Friday 7th August from 19:00.
Other events accompanying the exhibition include a family print-making workshop during the Warwick Bar Summer Fete on Saturday 25th July, and an informal discussion and film screening with artists Fay Nicolson and Annie Davey on Thursday 30th July.
