Paragon for sale
The Grade II-listed Paragon Hotel on Alcester Street in Digbeth has been put on the market for a cool £6 million.
The hotel has 13 function rooms and 250 bedrooms and was originally built in the early 20th century for Irish migrants. The Paragon was a hostel for many years and was only converted into a hotel in the 1990s.
Dhillon Hotels, who bought the building in 2006, called in administrators from BDO after succumbing to “difficult trading conditions”. (Source: Birmingham Mail)
Here’s hoping that a buyer is found soon.
