Positive Eastside City Park story‏

We recently received this story from Simon Linford, Chairman of Friends of Eastside City Park, and co-owner of the Woodman pub:

This morning as I was doing my litter picking round in Eastside City Park, a young man came over and asked if he could help me. He said “I see you every morning and it’s just you”. I asked him where he was from and he said “here” – then he pointed to his bench and said “I am in the group that sits there”. He even identified some of his own litter from the day before and picked it up.

He identified where the recent splurge of Lavazza coffee cups are coming from, and was genuinely helpful. He knew I was one of the owners of the pub but didn’t know about the Friends of Eastside City Park (but does now!).

We walked all the way round the park and filled a bin sack between us. Quite an uplifting encounter.

If you’d like to take a more active role in the park, like the Eastside City Park Facebook page.
