Raise the Curtains

Since moving into their studio at Minerva Works in January 2013, RoguePlay Theatre have supported 22 different companies and artists for rehearsals, performances and workshops; providing safe, affordable and well managed rehearsal space right here in Digbeth.

In addition, over 200 people (between the ages of 6 and 64) have passed through their doors for classes and courses, and RoguePlay’s free community work has reached many people, through performances, workshops and training, as well as over 30 work experience placements for young people.

RoguePlay quite rightly want to become a centre for Circus and Physical Theatre in the West Midlands, and want to stay in their home on Fazeley Street for a long time. To this end, they would like to install black theatre drapes to provide an even better performance space, along with being able to segregate the studio so that it can be used for classes and rehearsal simultaneously.

However, these curtains are not cheap!

RoguePlay need to raise £4,000 to cover the full cost of the drapes and installation; to do so they need your help! Donations of anything from the price of a curtain hook (£3) upwards are most welcome, so even if it’s only small RoguePlay would be very grateful!

Anyone donating will have their name hand painted onto a special wall at the studio to show the company’s appreciation. To donate, please visit the website and click on I want to help.

Thank you!
