SIFA Fireside is holding a special tribute night for much loved Birmingham-based Irish singer songwriter Rich McMahon, who sadly died in May this year.
Rich was a hugely talented and popular artist; as well as writing, recording and performing, Rich used his musical talents to give people a helping hand. In his spare time he came to SIFA Fireside’s Drop In centre in Digbeth to run music sessions with homeless and vulnerably housed adults. This led to them forming a house band that performed, to great success, at the Drop In last year.
Some of the finest Midlands based musicians will pay tribute to Rich at this concert (including Paul Murphy, Whalebone, Dan Hartland), whilst helping to raise funds for SIFA Fireside.
Funds raised will go towards practical support such as food, clothes and emergency accommodation advice for homeless and vulnerably-housed adults; as well as longer term support such as counselling, basic skills classes, help to find work and settled accommodation, leading to a more stable lifestyle.
