Roald Dahl Fun Day

When: Saturday 10th September, from 10:00
Where: Custard Factory, Digbeth, B9 4AA
Free (unless otherwise stated)

Roald Dahl, arguably the world’s best storyteller, will be celebrating his 100th birthday on 13th September. In tribute, The Custard Factory is being turned into a Chocolate Factory this Saturday.

It’s going to be more giant than James’s peach, more enormous than a crocodile, and more marvellous than George’s medicine!

As well as confectionery stalls, street food, children’s funfair rides, storytelling and face painting, there will be a whole host of activities to keep the little ones amused, including:

Fancy Dress Competition
The best child’s fancy dress costume, selected by Willy Wonka himself on the day, will win a family ticket to Cadbury World! (See the website for information and conditions)

Film Screenings
The Mockingbird will be showing three classic Dahl films for just £3 for children, £5 for adults; tickets available online.

Cupcake Workshops
Chitty’s Cakes will be selling cakes all day, but creative children can instead join a 20-minute workshop for just £5, to make their own Oompa Loompa cupcake or Wonka Bar cookie. Advanced booking online recommended.

Magic Candy Factory
Make your own 3D printed gummy sweets with the Magic Candy Factory! It’s straight out of Willy Wonka’s place 🙂
