Save our Suki10c – Part 1
When: Sunday 23rd June, midday to midnight
Where: Suki10c, Bordesley Street/Meriden Street, Digbeth, B5 5PJ
Entry: Free, but donations gratefully accepted!
This Sunday, a multitude of fantastic artists will be painting inside and outside Suki10c, accompanied by delicious foodstuffs, drinks and a full day of music! There will also be a raffle with some absolutely amazing art work and other prizes up for grabs.
For regulars to our website, we reported last week that Suki10c are beginning a campaign of fundraising events to fight the possibility of a Noise Abatement Order being issued against them. This is despite them undertaking a full environmental review before purchasing the venue to ensure that their plans would be met with nothing but support from the local community.
We survive on a week-to-week basis financially so we need your help. Our costs are already at £3000 and if the council do issue an abatement order we will appeal it and our costs could reach £10000. Fundraiser events are the only way that we are going to get the money together to pay these legal costs. So we urge you all to help us in every and any way possible. Because Birmingham needs venues like Suki10c.
More information and the background to the event is available on the Facebook event page.
So although entry to the event is free (and what an event it is!), we would encourage all our readers to donate as generously as possible to Save our Suki10c!
