Spotted Dog Jazz

When: Tuesdays from 21:00
Where: The Spotted Dog, 104 Warwick Street, Digbeth, B12 0NH

The Spotted Dog’s jazz provision has been getting a whole lorra love recently.

We know that the only place to be in town on a Tuesday is The Spotted Dog, but The Jazz Breakfast has been applauding the musical magic that happens in Digbeth too. Known as the must-read jazz journal for the Midlands, they have credited Richard Foote and Jonathan Silk (who look after Jazz at The Spotted Dog) with doing “more for jazz in Birmingham… in the past few years than any other”. Now that’s high praise indeed.

Not only that, but The Jazz Man also rates the boys, the jazz, and The Spotted Dog:

Jazzdosnaygrowontrees is a terrific representation of the vibrant Birmingham Jazz Scene. There’s some superb music here, much of it fresh and innovative, and not one duff track. For a fiver it represents an absolute bargain and I’d urge all our readers in Birmingham and beyond to get yourself down to The Spotted Dog to see a gig and buy a copy. The Spotted Bros are doing a great job and deserve your support.

If that isn’t enough to get you itching to come down to the Dog, then the boys are also due to start their own show on Digbeth-based Brum Radio soon too!
