Rave review for the Karczma

Jay Rayner, food critic for the Observer, regular on Masterchef, and presenter of Radio 4′s The Kitchen Cabinet, recently visited Digbeth.

While here, he sampled the atmosphere of Fazeley Studios and the culinary delights of The Karczma Polish restaurant on Bordesley Street. Naturally, Jay had quite a bit to say about The Karczma…

There is something very special going on here: a true instinct to feed, a massive generosity of spirit, and an outstanding love affair with the noble pig. This is Polish food the way you want it: deep, rich, soothing, hearty. It is one long hug on a plate.

We’ve said the Karczma is a great alternative restaurant right on our doorstep here in Digbeth. But Jay’s verdict? “Go there.” We don’t need to be told twice!
