The 72 Project
Grand Independent are based at Birmingham Film Studios on Upper Trinity Street, are are planning to shoot, edit and screen a 90 minute feature film in 72 hours in July.
This concept has already been demonstrated as a method of sustainable film production at internationally-recognised film festivals in Galway (Ireland) and Melbourne (Australia).
The Confusion of Tongues is a farcical comedy set over one day in Birmingham, intertwining the stories of various characters linked by their desire to win the jackpot at a local pub quiz. The cast will comprise emerging and established actors, who will be revealed at the official launch event at The Spotted Dog at 7pm on Friday 30th May.
In keeping with the story, the launch will include a pub quiz with prizes, as well as information about the film and ways to get involved.
Filming will start on Thursday 17th July at 9am and finish editing 72 hours later at 9am on Sunday the 20th July. It will then be screened at The Giant Screen at Millennium Point at 6pm on Sunday 20th July.
