The Warehouse Cafe: Review

We recently shared that the Warehouse Café in Allison Street had reopened, and were hopeful that the food would be of the same high standards we had come to expect.

So, it’s no surprise that the Birmingham Mail’s food critic Paul Fulford was full of praise for the restaurant after his visit:

This wasn’t fine dining. Nowhere near. But it was wholesome, well-crafted and thought-out food that was satisfying and pleasing to the taste buds and the eyes. The eating space is sparse, but comfortable and pleasant. Service was incredibly helpful and friendly.

We speculated how much the bill would be but wildly over-estimated for it was far cheaper than we guessed.

This is a place to which I’ll return for it offers good quality, healthy food (most locally sourced) at a brilliant price and is but a short stroll from the Bullring.

It’s great to hear that the new team are still providing the same excellent fare, at a great price, and showing everyone that Digbeth is Good!

We also hear that they have Digbeth Mess on the menu: rhubarb in vegan custard with chunks of coconut cake, served in a sundae glass. This may be a bit close to our Digbeth Tart (see video here), but we’ll let it go! 🙂
