Weird Trails: Digbeth

Weird Trails is a new book set in Digbeth that combines three things: a guidebook, walking map, and an anthology of urban fantasy short stories set in locations around Digbeth:

Join us for a short walk through the urban heart of England’s second city, Digbeth, a suburb that had defined the city’s subculture from the dawn of the Anglo-Saxon age to modern times, where immigrants were packed into muddy streets like sardines, and where the first spark of industry emerged until the whole country caught fire with the flames of the Industrial Revolution.

Weird trails provides an eclectic mix of history, urban legend, and urban fantasy, drawing upon the fertile minds of local authors, including the stories:

The Curzon Street Horror by James Brogden

Birds over the Bullring by Mike Chinn

The Battle of Bordesley Bridge by Lynn Cochrane

Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Bigfoot by Theresa Derwin

Let Sleeping Wurms Lie by Pauline Dungate

The Anorak and Robert O’ the Green & the Poor Knight by the late Julius Horne

Box of Dreams and Heavy Metal by Adrian Middleton

The Giant’s Heartbeat by Anne Nicholls

One thing is certain: after reading this book, you’ll never look at Digbeth in the same way again! Weird Trails is available in paperback from Amazon.
