What’s On Readers’ Awards 2017
Birmingham What’s On present their 2017 Readers’ Awards!
This is an opportunity for you to show just how much you appreciate Birmingham and Digbeth’s ever-vibrant arts and entertainment scene, and there are plenty of local venues in the running!
Click here to vote in as many, or as few, categories as you like. For some inspiration, we’ve picked out some categories below for which you might like to show your support for Digbeth:
10. Best Midlands Arts/Cultural Festival
In the running are Bass Festival (also in category 19. Best Midlands Music Festival) and Flatpack Festival.
14. Best Midlands Comedian
May we recommend Digbeth favourites Barbara Nice and Joe Lycett?
17. Best Independent Cinema
Of course local heroes The Mockingbird are in the running and deserving of your vote.
25. Best Street Food Vendor in the Midlands
Featuring loads of Digbeth Dining Club favourites.
30. Best Birmingham Festival
Lots of choice in this category, with Digbeth-based Swingamajig, Flatpack, Bass and the Birmingham Whisky Festival all nominated.
34. Best Birmingham Art Gallery/Exhibition Venue
Again, this is a very strong category for Digbeth, with representation from Centrala, Eastside Projects, Grand Union, and Stryx – a great opportunity to give one of our fantastic arts venues some much-needed exposure.
35. Best Birmingham INDEPENDENT Restaurant
Including Digbeth faves Original Patty Men, and The Warehouse Cafe (also in the running for 37. Best Birmingham INDEPENDENT Coffee Shops/Cafe).
36. Best Birmingham Street Food Event/Food Market
It probably comes as no surprise that Digbeth Dining Club and Taste & Liquor have been nominated here.
38. Best Birmingham INDEPENDENT bar
Featuring Spotlight Digbeth.
39. Best Birmingham Nightclub
Nominated are Digbeth’s Lab 11, The Night Owl, and The Rainbow.
40. Best Birmingham INDEPENDENT retail store
Bene Culture, in The Custard Factory, and Minerva Works’ Harris Moore are both in the running in this category.
